A Passion for Transmission

The initiations at my workshop allow me to continue sharing my expertise with a wider audience, complementing my teaching at ENSAAMA, the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art, and the short Kintsugi workshops I have been leading since 2018 in collaboration with my colleague Nicolas Pinon.

Initiation Kintsugi à l'ateleir en janvier2024

Since 2023, in my new workspace, I have been offering initiations in small groups or private lessons for privileged moments of exchange and learning.

Each participant receives personalized attention, whether for discovering the art of Kintsugi or for tailored improvement in plant-based lacquer techniques.

We take the time to exchange, listen, and share in the tranquility of the workshop, creating an experience that is as enriching artistically as it is humanly.

KINTSUGI

The art of KINTSUGI involves reviving a broken object by repairing it while highlighting its cracks rather than hiding them.

Originally, in Japan, it was simply this: a broken ceramic object, repaired for reuse. This practice encompasses several techniques inherent to the craft of plant-based lacquer, adapted for the purpose of Kintsugi.

Do you want to give a second life to an object?

KINTSUGI class at the workshop

set of 7 sessions
Bol Karatsu en morceaux
Bol karatsu en Kintsugi

A series of sessions to initiate or improve your practice of Kintsugi using plant-based lacquer.

With this set of sessions, all the traditional steps to perform Kintsugi will be covered, respecting the hardening times of the plant-based lacquer.

To accommodate everyone's schedule, the 7 sessions can be chosen from various time slots offered by Blandine, spread over two or three months.

Each session lasts 2.5 hours and takes place at the HB. Laque workshop in Saint Ouen sur Seine.

A session of 7 classes is limited to only four participants at a time. Depending on the 7 time slots chosen by each participant, you may find yourself either in a group or alone during a class.

As each participant brings their own pieces to repair, we will adapt to the different challenges presented by your ceramics.

After booking, an email link will be sent to clarify the possible time slots and to choose your 7 sessions.

Testimony

Isabelle S

After a weekend of Kintsugi training in 2019, during which Blandine was one of the two trainers and which I thoroughly enjoyed, I had been wanting to improve my skills for a long time. It was with great joy that I discovered in 2024 that Blandine was offering 'à la carte' sessions in her workshop, which perfectly matched what I was looking for. It was therefore a pleasure, every Monday for seven weeks, in January-February 2025, to see Blandine again, along with her kindness, talent, patience, creativity, smile, generosity... and I could go on.
